BHS Racing’s main sponsor is BHS Engineering - principles Barry and Myra Black.
When living in the UK some 24 years ago Barry and Myra were then avid Suzuki people from 250, 500, 750 water cooled and then finally the 1000cc. Barry rode the bikes while Myra was happy to be a pillion passenger… she liked to sit back and take in the view. In 1997 now living in WA, Barry on his trusted Suzuki Bandit visited Barbagallo Raceway and watched Phil Thomson who was then riding a Honda. Barry thought I can go faster than that!!
After talking it over with his wife Myra he was off into the road racing circle, adrenalin pumping and by June 1997 he was preparing his first race bike a Honda CBR 600 and was on the track before the year was out.
Due to business committments in 2001 Barry took a season off and by late October 2002 after a a trip to 5 Star Yamaha in Henderson he fell for the Yamaha R6 and placed his order.
By November 2003 an R1 was purchased and this was the beginning of our long standing relationship with the team at 5 Star Yamaha. After an eventfull 2 years in both Supersport and Superbike classes he sadly had to retire at the end of the season in 2005.
With bikes in his veins he decided to follow his “dream” owning and developing a Race Team. Thus Barry with support from wife Myra began looking for like minded riders/people to be part of a Winning Team…..more
By 2006 team BHS Racing emerged from Barry racing a Honda CBR 600 in 1997 to current day as a Major Privateer Team at State and National level.
