WA 2007 Superbike Champion Matt Battista sustained massive injuries during a race event at Wanneroo Raceway on June 29th 2008. An MRI scan confirmed the initial prognoses of paraplegia. As a result of Matt’s accident we have decided to temporarily withdraw from racing in for the remainder of 2008 as a mark of respect for Matt.
Our site will offer information on Matt’s wellbeing, racing events and updates on riders news etc in WA.

November 28th: Aiden Hopkins came back to WA with 2nd for SA Junior Championship for the 80cc Class and 2nd for Junior Master of Mallala for the 80cc class and 4th over all for the weekend…race report
Sunday 23rd November his mum Leanne rang to say Aidan achieved 4th over all for the day Plus 2nd in the Master of Mallalap….Plus 2nd SA Champ for his class. Aidan young man you have achieved a fantastic result.. To everyone out there…young Aidan (15yrs) arrived at a track he had never been to and achieved wonderful results for himself and for WA.
October 26th: Battista Bash - arranged by Coastal Motorcycle Club was a fantastic success, raising in excess of $84,000 at Auction. Weather held out for the day and Matt Battista arrived at 3:15pm where he was surrounded by fans young and old. It was an emotional day for everyone, speaking with Matt later he said it was overwhelming.
We would like to say the biggest thanks to everyone at Coastal - President - Cindy Collis, Race Secretary - Kerrie Collier, Assistant Secretary - Decima Johns.
Special thanks to the wonderful people who volunteered at the Gates, Canteen, Bar, Flaggies, Machine Examiners, Commentators and First Aid.

Cameron Stronach heads off to Portugal Tuesday 28th October for the last round of the World Superstock 1000 Sunday November 2nd and then straight back to Perth to ride in the 3 day International event at Barbagallo Raceway….7th - 9th….more info. Cameron Stronach leaves France after riding at Magny Cours in World Superstock Event. He will be back in Perth Wednesday 8th for a few weeks before heading back to Portugal for the last round 1st-3rd November. September 2nd: Cameron Stronach riding for Team O Six Kawasaki Supported flew out Monday 1st September to ride in the World Superstock 1000 series at Donnington Sunday 7th September. Murray Stronach (Cam’s dad) leaves Wednesday as Technical Advisor to Cameron. Stronach’s will return to Perth Wednesday 10th and Cameron will head back to Europe on the 29th September to ride at Magny Cours October 5th. He will stay in Europe until the final round in Portugal - Portimeo circuit November 2nd…more on that later.

BHS Engineering Supersport Championship winner on the day was Adam Senior with 3 from 3 wins and he leads the Championship. Cameron Keevers # 20 (Reece Bancell winner) made an appearance whilst in Perth for a few weeks on a bike prepared by Allect Services and came 2nd on the day with 58 points. 3rd was our very own Tommy Hatton 56 points. August 7th: Update on Matt Battista - BHS would like to thank all for the wonderful support given to Matt and his family. July 11th: Happy Birthdayto Matt Battista who celebrates his 32nd birthday today. Matt is now in Shenton Park Rehabilitation unit Ward 11 room F. Family would like to thank everyone for all their support and encouragement.
July 6th: News on Matt Battista …family have said he is in better spirits and he is healing well from the other injuries. July 5th: Cameron Stronach crashed in testing at Brno this weekend….Cameron tells us that the bike was destroyed. Thankfully Stronach walked away with no injuries and Team O Six have another test set for Sunday 13th for 1000 rider Cameron and 600 rider Alex Lowes. The boys will stay in Czech until the Superbike Championship round 18-20th July.
June 30th: Our very own team member WA Superbike Champion and 26 time WA Motocross Champion Matt Battista had a major crash during round three of the WA Superbike Championship at Wanneroo Raceway on Sunday, June 29.
The race incident was major and Matt was transported to Joondalup Hospital before being transferred to Royal Perth Hospital with major spinal injuries.
Matt has sustained a dislocated shoulder, a broken shoulder and a number of broken ribs but the spinal injuries were the major concern.
On Monday Matt underwent an MRI scan which unfortunately confirmed the initial prognosis of paraplegia.
We here at BHS Engineering are shattered and will be behind the Battista family to provide ongoing support at this difficult time.
June 26th: Best racing in the State…..Come along to Barbagallo Raceway this Sunday 29th June and see our very own BHS Racing #1 Matt Battista ride to keep his 23 point lead in the championship and Local lap record from WA riders Ben Stronach. Mark Schnierer and Chris Galbraith…who will be fighting to catch up with Matt. Also on board the BHS team is Supersport Rider Tommy Hatton #76 in his debute season for the team coming back to Round 3 after sustaining a shoulder injury and slight concussion at Rd 2. Although still some discomfort in the shoulder he is cleared to ride and his number one bike is on song..along with his number 2 bike preped and ready for the wet. Tommy has the package to gain much needed points. With the weather predicting a WET weekend…the team are excited.

May 20th: Congratulations to Matt Battista from all at BHS for bringing back the Local Lap Record and taking out 3 from 3 wins on the day…check out results. Not so good a day for new rider Tommy Hatton after 4 leading laps in race 1 he crashed out in the basin. Unfortunately Tommy sustained shoulder and head injury that put him out for the rest of the meeting. Tommy called us later that night and was home resting a broken collarbone. He will be back fighting fit for Round 3. Congratulations to Adam Senior who is undefeated in the last 2 rounds and has had 6 from 6 wins.
